Sessions and Topics

The session schedule for BarCampGR looks like this at the beginning of each day:

An empty schedule grid, with someone beginning to write on it.

That’s right, nothing is scheduled yet! Anyone at BarCamp can write in a topic and their name, and they’ll be the speaker then. Speakers can use the projectors and whiteboards available in each room, or just talk freely, or have a roundtable discussion with everyone in the room.

During the event, talks.barcampgr.org will be available as a digital view of the schedule grid.

What topics can I expect?

There’s a lot of tech and related topics, but also totally different topics are completely welcome. Here’s a sampling of some past talks:

  • Docker Bootcamp
  • Building a Treadmill Desk
  • Economics in the Workplace
  • Web Accessibility
  • Anatomy of a WYCE Show
  • So You Think You Can Dance (Swing)
  • Text Justification
  • Ceph Big Storage for Big Data
  • Consent in Tech
  • Technical Debt & You
  • Make Your Own Beer
  • Smoking Ribs
  • Playtest a Game
  • Intro to Citizen Science
